Hotel Indigo Kensington Review
Recently I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the luxurious Hotel Indigo Kensington London which is a unique boutique hotel in the heart of London.
Upon arrival I was greeted by warm & friendly faces at reception which made me feel instantly welcomed into the hotel & shown to the beautiful hotel room.
The hotel room we had the pleasure of staying in was the stunning Deluxe Queen Room which was absolutely stunning! It really did have the wow factor! The duvet cover had a beautiful indigo bed spread and matching pillows.
A very spacious room with a very comfortable king sized bed along with interesting and quirky Indigo decor! I loved the quirky indigo furniture and green eco friendly lighting.
The statement wall really made the room and made the colours in the room work ever so well. The hints of blues and greens meshed together with unique furnishings really created a delightful first impression 🙂
When it comes to decor your furniture should always create a statement even if it’s a simple play on colour or design, modern and quirky decor is something which is always so appealing and keeps any room looking fresh and unique.
In the bedroom it was wonderful to be greeted with a bottle of Laurent- Perrier’s Cuvee Rosé Champagne and some very moorish cupcakes which were from a local shop in the Kensington area, I thought this was such a kind hearted touch from the staff at Indigo 🙂
The personalised card made me smile along with the tasty cupcakes, a great welcome to Hotel Indigo! Thank you!
The bathroom was gorgeous with black shiny interiors inside teamed with Indigo decor which worked nicely with the shiny surfaces. The square shower was rather lovely & it felt as though you were showing underneath a waterfall! A nice touch!
The interiors were really modern and nicely lit. I particularly loved the storage space underneath the sink, really useful for placing your cosmetics bag.
It’s so important that hotels offer space and this was certainly provided in this beautiful hotel room 🙂
Right at the end of the hotel there was a mini living room area with a comfortable sofa and a quirky chair. A really nice touch and this added area provided so much extra space and made the room itself feel like a one bedroom flat. Really very impressed.
The high skylight which was situated in the centre of the room added so much light to the room which was wonderful to wake up in! This highlighted the tall ceilings adding even more space to the room!
Hotel Tour
The reception area is warm and rustic feel with it’s wooden interiors and quirky decor. The lighting is really warming which is appealing, it gives you an instant homely feel when you walk into the hotel which for me is ever so important as it creates such a positive atmosphere.
The kitchen called The Kensington Quarter is set in the style of an American diner which is great, it has a very London meets the USA appeal with it’s red high chairs and its chequered monochrome flooring. Large pendant lights overlook the breakfast area which is a nice touch and one of my favourite ways to light areas in rooms 🙂
The hallways are also low lit with a mixture of quirky mirrors and interesting framed imagery. Outside of my room was a wall of rounded mirrors which shone up pink due to the quirky lights hanging in the hallway with a pink hue due to the surrounding lighting.
The Gym at Hotel Indigo Kensington was very quirky indeed with a large statement wall, exceedingly cleanly and nicely air conditioned!
If you like to work out the gym is open 24 hours to hotel guests!
Breakfast in Bed
In the morning before leaving the hotel I had the pleasure of enjoying such a late delicious breakfast at 11am in the comfort of the hotel room which was just lovely to experience. Hotel staff were really helpful & room service at Hotel Indigo was speedy and efficient.
We ordered the pancakes with maple syrup and a selection of tasty Vegan Bakes, along with coffee -Coffee is a must at breakfast that goes without saying right? 🙂
Breakfast was very nicely presented and arrived on a large wooden tray, which I then put onto the coffee table to photograph and then enjoy! As every blogger knows the food gets photographed first before eating 😉
The pancakes were light and fluffy, really exceedingly tasty! Seriously the best I’ve tasted in a long while!
The Vegan Bakes were so scrumptious and moorish, especially enjoyed the vegan flapjack, it literally melted in my mouth!
It was a pleasure to enjoy breakfast in the hotel room!
The Hotel Indigo kindly offered us a late check out time which was fantastic as it gave me time to photograph this breakfast so nicely and then enjoy it of course, then enjoy a relaxing shower before getting ready to head home.
Surrounding areas
Hotel Indigo is situated in such a beautiful area in Kensington, Earls Court. The hotel itself from the outside is a polished boutique redbrick Victorian townhouse which overlooks the picturesque Barkston Gardens Kensington.
It’s very nearby to Earls Court tube station so it’s easily accessible.
Nearby you have a large range of places to eat literally within a couple of minutes walking from the hotel. One of my favourite finds was The Little French Restaurant Kensington which a beautiful place to dine in. I would highly recommend it to anybody visiting the Kensington area for dinner.
It’s like you’re stepping into France when you walk in, the atmosphere is incredible and the food is perfectly French!
Overall I was highly impressed with Hotel Indigo as a hotel. It was incredibly welcoming from the very beginning to end. The style of the hotel was quirky & impressive from the inside out.
The mix of Victorian charm and contemporary decor really gives this Kensington hotel a unique charm!
The Deluxe Queen room really took my breathe away & I had such a restful nights sleep in the comfortable king sized bed 🙂
To see more of the beautiful bedroom you can see more in my recent photo shoot for Nancy Mac 🙂
I would certainly visit another Hotel Indigo again that’s for certain!
