Signature Tasting Menu

Tasting menus are always particularly inspiring to get a feel of exactly what restaurants have to offer, the element of surprise always excites.

To begin with we enjoyed the Mixed Mushroom Soup packed full of flavour offering a textural fusion of moorish dumplings and light salty sauce which was balanced to perfection.

Followed shortly was a menu highlight, the Yellowtail Carpaccio. Mei Ume impressed with their finest cuts of sashimi delicate yet moorish flavours. Incredibly delicate combined with the sommeliers wine suggestion of the Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Confuron-Gindre 2013 a wholesome fruity red wine.

We were greeted by the Wok Fried Hereford Beef Fillet in Spicy Black Pepper Sauce, soft and succulent adorned with fusion spice served with Jasmine Rice & Stir Fried Chinese Seasonal Vegetable with Ginger.

The Wasabi King Prawns were beyond impressive and a highlight of the menu, creamy yet delicate, rich in flavour and intensely moorish and lightly crisped.

This red dress is mused around Grace Coddington and her red locks. It represents the glamour and enchanted personality of her -Omar Mansoor

To compliment the interiors of Mei Ume, I opted for a fitted Little Red Dress by Fashion Designer Omar Mansoor.

Omar tells me ‘Red communicates energy and glamour. Even minimally used of this colour has depth in it. Jersey crepe is the base material to hug the silhouette and enhance the beauty of a women’. Red is one of my favourite shades to wear.

‘Your skin tone compliments very well with bright colours such as red and you carry the LRD in very suave manner’ -Omar Mansoor.

Luxury Hotels in London

London is beautiful city full of fancy and delightful places, but the following will give you an interesting spectrum to consider if you’re simply looking for where you might feel right at home showing off your style.

The American Bar at The Savoy
The American Bar at The Savoy is one of the most recommended bars in the city, and a place that comes to mind whenever one is discussing the prettiest public venues in London. A unique gathering spots and one of the most fashionable luxury locations in London offering both refinement and elegance. A perfect place to dress your best.

The Delaunay
The Delaunay is another venue where you can get away with being about as fashion-forward as you can muster. A review of the Covent Garden restaurant got the description just right, suggesting that its dark wood, green leathers, and brass fixtures call to mind a sophisticated European restaurant plucked out of 19th century Vienna. That may sound somewhat strange, but in a way isn’t what we all want to find when looking for special restaurants or bars in major European cities?

London Coliseum
Built in the Westminster part of town, the London Coliseum (or English National Opera) has been a functioning theatrical venue for over 110 years. As you might expect of one of the oldest and grandest major theatres in a city famous for live performance, its’ an absolutely stunning interior, with plush red seating, palatial balcony seating and decorations, and a partially domed ceiling. It’s okay to go to the London Coliseum in relatively casual attire, but plenty of people dress up as well, and you certainly won’t look out of place pulling out all the stops.

The Empire
Despite the old-fashioned association many have with casinos, as well as the prevalence of digital casinos with free play possibilities and endless game varieties, London has a few old fixtures that are still in terrific shape. The Empire may be the best casino in the city, and doubles as a cinema, restaurant and bar venue, and general social gathering spot. As with the London Coliseum, you’ll undoubtedly see people dressed casually if you head out for a night of entertainment here, but it’s never improper to show off your fashion at a major city casino.

The London EDITION
This is actually a boutique hotel in Soho with one of the classiest bars in the city. if you’re looking for elegance The American Bar at The Savoy is  just about every list of recommended spots for tourists, this is the place. There’s virtually no level to which you might dress that would make you feel out of place or overdressed in this breath-taking space.
